OUR SCHOOL

Despite being a part of the Scottsdale Unified School District, Cherokee Elementary School's campus is nestled in the beautiful town of Paradise Valley. Boasting breathtaking views of Mummy Mountain and Piestewa Peak. The campus underwent a significant redevelopment starting with the Scottsdale Unified School District (SUSD) Governing Board's decision on October 16, 2018, to use voter-approved bonds for the project. The rebuild was complete and the new building officially opened with a ribbon cutting ceremony on August 2nd, 2021.

At Cherokee Elementary School, community involvement is the cornerstone of our vibrant and supportive environment. Parents are actively engaged in the life of the school, regularly volunteering in classrooms with anywhere between 50 to 60 visitors on campus each day.

Walter Chantler is the principal of Cherokee Elementary School and has been with the Cherokee Community since 2010. He has been an administrator in the Scottsdale Unified School District since 2000.
